Zizek videos now on youtube

As promised, the my videos of Slavoj Zizek are now on youtube. You can also find transcripts and some better quality video at http://occupywallst.org/

Also on the youtube account is a video of a small speech that Mohammed Ezzeldin, an Egpytian citizen who had been part of the Arab Spring revolt and is now studying in the United States gave on Saturday in Washington Square Park.

What is this?

With the world seemingly constantly in flux, we must turn to each other to help decipher what exactly is going on around us. I hope to begin some of those conversations here with a mixture of posts ranging from the political to the personal to the historical. Comments on the posts are vital to continuing that conversation.

I may not convince you that what I'm saying is 'true' or 'correct.' I may not always convince myself. Some of what I say may be flat out wrong. What I do hope that what I write here will make you spend a little bit more time examining some belief of yours, as I hope our conversations will make me do for my own beliefs.

One thing I think we can all agree on is... we are human, and for whatever its worth, we are the most intelligent species that has ever existed. There's something special about us, about the actions we take, the dreams we dream, and the identities we create. Surely we can do better.
